TGIF - Friday, September 3, 2010

Scholars,

I enjoyed meeting your parental units last night.

Today in class you finished your in-class essay on Nickel and Dimed. You also turned in your theme journals on all three summer reading books.

On Tuesday, September 7, we have picture day, so please bring to school your photo forms and your prettiest/most handsome selves.

Also on Tuesday your David Sedaris packet (which you received in class today) is due.  Please interact with each article in the following way:
  • Read the article and immediately write your response to it in the space provided;
and
  • Re-read the article and highlight or mark the following: details, imagery, hyperbole, rhetorical questions, similes, metaphors and other examples of figurative language, allusions, and any other rhetorical devices that catch your attention.
Come to class joyfully on Tuesday prepared to discuss and write about these selections.

Have a glorious holiday weekend,

Ms. Seward
