Friday, we will have a quiz - AP-style multiple choice, on "DD" and "BMPS."

Start reading Zeitoun!  The first 109 pages are due Tuesday (even classes) and Wednesday (odd classes).

Cheers,

Ms. Seward

Students:

Friday in class you submitted your annotations of Kaffir Boy and "Dumpster Diving."

We also had a quote quiz on "DD," which we also discussed.

I hope that you read "DD" while pondering profound questions, such as the author's philosophy, and whether you buy into such philosophy, as well as comparisons between the Mathabanes' and Lars Eighner's dumpster diving.

On Monday, you will write a synthesis-like essay on Kaffir Boy, in which you will support you thesis with quotes from K Boy as well as from two outside sources.  To that end please bring all outside sources that you have received in class regarding South Africa.

Also, please note that Kaffir Boy is a work of fiction and, thus, NOT a novel.

Finally, please read, annotate, and be ready to discuss "Black Men and Public Space" on Tuesday.

Enjoy this beautiful day.  If nothing else, study outside.
