Yeah, yeah, yeah

Beautiful day!

Ninth graders practiced writing short answers and embedding quotes.  We then read Tony Hawk's "This I Believe" essay.

Test Monday on the following 15 words:  evanesce; flare; glisten; huddle; linger; lug; mar; mourn; prod; roam; scowl; shrivel; squawk; thud; wither.  You will also write short answers with embedded quotes on your test.

Homework for Monday:  sentences for words 6-15 from your list.  Each sentence must be a compound sentence, either with a semicolon, or with a comma and one of the fanboys (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).

Juniors read Tony Hawk's "This I Believe" essay as well as Steve Jobs's Stanford 2005 commencement speech. Bring to class tomorrow: Hawk; Jobs; and Gulliver's Travels.
